Journal Prompts for Self-Confidence, Manifestation & Main Character Energy
Nia Long as Nina Mosley in Love Jones.
The days are getting shorter, and my writing is getting sleepier. I feel hibernation and deep rest setting in. As colder days and more time spent inside approach, I know that the warmth of loving myself deeply will sustain me.
But it hasn’t always been like this. I didn’t always know that I was the main character of my life’s movie. In fact, this is all a pretty recent development. What I mean is that we all have the power to co-create the life we want, using our intention, imagination, self-love, and self-confidence to set the tone of our life. And so, for the women who have also forgotten their own power, I offer these journal prompts to remind yourself that you can live a full and beautiful life — you just have to remember that you are worthy of it.
Sometimes you have to remind yourself of who you are.
Sometimes, you need a full re-introduction to yourself, after years of burying your true self beneath layers of programming, self-doubt, and fear.
Sometimes, you may not even know that you’re out of touch with yourself and need to snap back into being that main character.
Lisa Nicole Carson and Nia in Love Jones.
But you’re not just the main character — you’re also the director, the costume designer, the casting director, and so much more. What power you hold in creating the story of your own life! (And God, of course, is the producer, providing the resources, people, places, and things necessary to make it all happen.)
The following journal prompts that I came up with aren’t about doing something big or crazy — they’re about centering yourself in your own life, whether in big or small ways.
If you find yourself not living your life out loud, or not loving yourself very much, or not putting yourself first in your own life’s experiences, something is wrong. It’s time to tap back in and shake some things up.
You should always be celebrating yourself. You should always be wishing the highest good for yourself and thinking the best for yourself. Repeat after me:
I choose joy.
And my joy is deserving of being expressed.
I am deserving of all that I desire.
I am worthy of bringing my most authentic fantasies to life.
Remember that you hold the power to set the tone of your life.
Remember that you deserve, always, to put yourself first.
Remember that you are the star of your movie.
Finally, remember, that you can create from the divine intelligence within you:
From your heart,
From your deepest imagination,
From your womb,
From your wildest desires,
From your erotic self.
Connect to these sources of love as you write your responses.
With love and faith in our co-created future together, here are journal prompts to embody your main character energy.
As the screenwriter of my movie, the story I am telling is:
Describe what you would like to happen in this phase of your life — in the next week, month, or year — get specific.
As the director, I manifest this story by:
Write down what steps you envision yourself taking to make your story happen.
As the main character, I am:
Use the all-powerful “I am” to describe the highest qualities about your main character, i.e., yourself, during this part of your story. Use traits like “beautiful,” “powerful,” “sensual,” “rich,” “self-confident,” etc.
As the cinematographer, the tone of my movie is:
Cinematographers help set the tone of a movie by choosing how it’ll visually look, for example, whether it’ll be brightly colored , dark and moody, or in black and white. Similarly, you can describe the overall energy and vibe of this part of your story.
As the costume designer, I am wearing:
I can’t help myself, I love a good aesthetic and clothes are such a powerful manifestation tool. What is your highest-self main character wearing?
As the casting director, my supporting players are:
Who do you want to support you in your life right now? And who needs to be moved to a background character?
As the set designer, my story takes place in:
[what are the locations where you will manifest this new timeline? be descriptive.]
As the sound editor, the music in my story is:
Write what sounds align with your manifestation, whether it’s the sound of a loved one’s voice, children’s laughter, beautiful music, etc.
The name of my movie is:
Choose a title that helps you to remember instantly all that you are manifesting, in one or just a couple of words.
